Zero-Knowledge banks on IPO

Zero-Knowledge Systems, a Canadian provider of security and privacy software for consumers and businesses, says it has filed for an initial public offering. The net proceeds of the offering will be used to fund the commercial growth of the company's products, Zero-Knowledge said in a statement. The offering would consist of the issuance of common shares listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange-Venture Exchange under the ticker symbol "ZKS." Yorkton Securities is acting as underwriter for the offering. Once the toast of civil libertarians, Zero-Knowledge first found fame by offering a service that enabled people to surf the Web anonymously. Last year, the company closed its Freedom Network and now sells software to keep viruses, hackers and snoops out of consumer computers and to help corporations manage their privacy policies.
