It's the best shave an Avenger can get, and soon it could be yours. Earlier this month, Gillette unveiled a set of "prototype razors" with "Avengers-inspired technology" thanks to a partnership with the fictional organization Stark Industries, and on Tuesday Gillette and comic news site Comics Alliance teamed up to give one Marvelite the chance to win handcrafted replicas signed by iconic comic book writer Stan Lee himself.
According to Gillette, each razor is infused with technology inspired by one of the Avengers. The Hulk's razor, for example, is called the Gillette XL Gamma and boasts "stress-triggered sensors and an unstable molecular structure [that] can increase up to 700 percent in razor mass and brute shaving force." Hulk's razor gets angry when it misses hairs, very angry. Thor's Gillette Thunder "scorches hairs...with micro-lightning and has an honor-based gyro-gravity field" that prevents others from getting their grubby hands on it.
Perfect for a superhero, not so much for the rest of us.
There are also "prototype razors" inspired by Iron Man and Captain America. You can enter to win the model replicas signed by Stan Lee at the Comics Alliance promotional page. The contest is only open to individuals 18 years or older, in the 48 contiguous states of the United States, and runs through 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, May 1.
It's not likely you'll ever see real versions these Gillette's Avengers-themed razors at a retail store near you, but that's probably for the best. I don't think any of us need an additional 700 percent in razor mass when we're cutting the hair off our faces.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" hits theaters in the US on May 1.
