The Internet company creates Screen to stream content, including Comedy Central's lineup, thanks to a deal with Viacom.

Yahoo is continuing its move to mobile by launching a video-streaming app built for iOS, the company announced Monday.

In addition to creating Yahoo Screen, an app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, the Internet company inked a deal with Viacom to stream clips from Comedy Central.

Created by Yahoo's mobile team in New York, the app lets users watch and browse through trending clips and search for shows. Swiping left and right skips between episodes, and swiping up and down flips through channels, according to Yahoo's blog post.

"We want Yahoo Screen to be a place where you can customize your experience to your liking while continually discovering new things to watch and share," Robby Stein, Yahoo director of Product, wrote in the blog.

Yahoo is playing catch-up in the world of mobile video streaming, which is already dominated by the likes of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. CEO Marissa Mayer has been focused on turning Yahoo into a mobile-first company since she took over last year. As a result, the company has been buying up mobile startups and pushing out redesigned products at a rapid pace.
