Xiaomi teases a possible product reveal for Google I/O

The Chinese company's Global VP Hugo Barra confirmed on Twitter that the company will be attending Google's yearly developer's conference this week -- and hinted at what the company might be showing off.

Up-and-coming Chinese electronics company Xiaomi will be attending this week's Google I/O Developer's conference, Global VP Hugo Barra confirmed on Twitter this morning. Barra added no specifics about what the company has planned, but offered a sneak peak by way of a cryptic logo.

That "io"-shaped Mi logo sneaks plus and minus symbols onto the letter i. A battery? A remote control? It's hard to tell without too much speculation.

Xiaomi certainly has its sights set on expanding to the US. Barra confirmed as much when he spoke with CNET's Jessica Dolcourt in Beijing earlier this month. He also threw cold water on the idea of any major product launches this year, though, citing a year or two of "preparation" before the launch of a US device. At any rate, it'll be something to watch for once Google I/O gets underway tomorrow.
