WS-I releases Web services application sample

The Web Services Interoperability (WS-I) on Wednesday made a sample application available to demonstrate effective ways to use Web services standards. The latest interoperability guidelines and tests build off of the WS-I Basic Profile 1.0, which software companies and businesses use to measure compliance with basic Web services protocols.

The WS-I Sample Application 1.0, released Wednesday, offers different scenarios of how Web services could be used in practice. The sample describes a supply chain application in which different Web services protocols are used to exchange data between business partners. Several companies have already written implementations of the sample application to demonstrate their adherence to guidelines.
