PayPal wants to be more than just a digital wallet.

We offer our take on PayPal laying out its vision of the future in a feature by CNET senior reporter Ben Fox Rubin. (Sorry, he's not back yet.) In particular, we drill down on PayPal's ability to look at its customer data to offer new services. It could be helpful, or it could be creepy.

We also discuss Facebook tweaking its Messenger app so more of your favorite contacts and relevant info show up first, replacing your last conversation. It's another big change, which historically leads to a short wave of backlash before folks calm down. Will it happen again?

Lastly, we talk about Dish Network getting Cuban content courtesy of Cubamax TV, which guest host Laura Martinez covered here.

The 3:59 gives you bite-size news and analysis about the top stories of the day, brought to you by CNET Executive Editor Roger Cheng, Senior Writer Ben Fox Rubin and Producer Bryan VanGelder.
