Windows Vista one step closer to reality?

Rumor has it that the next CTP release of is imminent. Ina Fried at News.com anticipates the release next week, and other sources seem to be hinting at Monday. The coming release is expected to fall within build versions 5270 and 5276 and may include most of the functionality consumers are likely to see in the final version, due out in late 2006. At this point, all signs seem to indicate that Microsoft will not be calling this next release Beta 2 and will wait to apply a few more finishing touches before releasing Vista as a public beta.
