Ho ho no! We're approaching the end of our Win a Digital Christmas competition, which means the fun's almost over. This week marks the unveiling of the penultimate icon in the festive treasure hunt.
We've stashed the hat icon in one of the reviews on CNET.co.uk and this week it's pointing towards the fifth offering in our colossal £4,000 prize line-up -- Denon's DVD-1730 DVD player and Sennheiser's PXC 300 noise-cancelling headphones.
Theis a DVD player that features a direct digital HDMI output, which, when connected to an HD Ready flat screen, allows it to upscale standard-definition DVDs to 720p and 1080i standards, giving you images close to high-definition quality. If you want better quality from your movies but aren't ready to replace your extensive DVD collection, this is an ideal solution.
Meanwhile, think about upgrading your audio as well as your visual stimulation. Sennheiser's PXC 300 noise-cancelling headphones are travel-friendly but don't compromise on performance -- they employ Sennheiser's latest NoiseGard Advance system, which "eliminates the electronics' inherent background noise, improving sound quality" -- or so the company says.
So that's two more prizes in the bag, leaving one week and three prizes to go... next week's going to be a big one. And if you've only just clocked on to this rather generous competition, it's not too late to catch up. There are already four other icons out there to track down -- the ornament icon is linked to the stunning Panasonic Viera TH37PX60B plasma television; the present icon accompanies the sleek Asus F3Jc multimedia laptop; the holly icon is attached to the brand new Olympus E-400 digital SLR; and the tree icon points at the Samsung E900 slider phone.
Think you've got them all? Then your name is on our list of potential winners, all you need to do is to come back next week and find the final icon and you could be walking off with the lot -- £4,000 worth of tech goodies. All that remains, Christmas compers, is for us to wish you a mighty load of luck! -KM
