The eagle-eyed sorts over at Rock, Paper Shotgun have spotted a new trademark granted to Square Enix's UK office yesterday — the aforementioned Deus Ex: Human Defiance.

While that doesn't suggest that it has to be a game, it's certainly not a giant leap to make (Defiance surely follows Revolution in the political food chain, right?). Although, it could genuinely be anything from a new property designed specifically for next-gen consoles to an iPad app.

Rock, Paper Shotgun note that the trademark covers a wide range of electronic and printed products, so if it is a game, we can probably expect a fairly large range of official merchandise to come along with it. We wonder if there'll be another run of official Deus Ex clothing as well?

One thing DX fans can probably all agree on: can we lose the boss fights from Human Revolution?
