White PlayStation 3 bundle on its way to North America

A posting on Best Buy's site indicates that customers will soon be able to get their hands on a white PlayStation 3.

Sony will soon launch a white PlayStation 3 in the U.S. and Canada, postings on Best Buy's site indicate.

Best Buy's Canadian and U.S.-based sites today posted white versions of the PlayStation 3. The 500GB console is bundled with three games -- Little Big Planet 2, Infamous 2, and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. In addition, the bundle includes six PlayStation Vita games and a one-year subscription to PlayStation Plus.

In both the U.S. and Canada, the bundle will set customers back $299.99.

In North America, Sony has stuck to shipping black versions of its latest console. Late last year, however, the company launched a white version of its recently redesigned PlayStation 3 in Japan. It appears that same console will be coming to North America. It's just not clear for how long.

According to Best Buy's site, the "Crystal White" PlayStation 3 will come with limited edition availability. In Canada, Best Buy is showing a January 27 launch date.

CNET has contacted Sony for comment on the White PlayStation 3. We will update this story when we have more information.
