WhatsApp will hand over data to Facebook

The messaging app's parent company will use the data to target ads and suggest new friends.

WhatsApp just announced that it updated its terms and conditions to permit the company to opt-in all one billion of its users to share information with Facebook. Facebook will take that information to find friends and also target ads better. WhatsApp is also working on ways for businesses to communicate to users from the app.
