Western Digital unveiled on Wednesday a 100GB hard drive for desktop computers. The WD Caviar can store a total of 1,800 digital photos, 4 hours of digital video, 40 hours of digital music downloads, 18 digital games and 30 software programs, according to the Lake Forest, Calif.-based company.
The $299 hard drive spins at 7,200 rpm, a high-performance level for desktop computers. It is expected to ship this month.
