Webvan finishes technology integration

Webvan said Friday that it completed integrating its computer system throughout its operations and is operating under a unified brand. Last week, Webvan's Seattle and Portland, Ore., markets were the last two of the five former HomeGrocer markets to undergo the technology system transition, which the Foster City, Calif.-based company said occurred a month ahead of schedule. Webvan acquired its online grocer competitor last summer in an all-stock deal worth $1.2 billion at the time. The technology integration completion comes as the company reorganizes after the resignation of its chief executive, who departed last month.
