Webby awards deadline extended

The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences has extended its Webby Awards submissions deadline to Feb. 15 from Jan. 31. The academy, which recognizes Web sites in categories ranging from "best practices" to "weird," said it extended the deadline to accommodate a higher-than-expected volume of submissions. Entries have arrived from 35 countries and 44 states. The awards ceremony is scheduled for May in San Francisco.
