Web tech support on its way

NetHelper has launched a technical support service for Web surfers at home and at work.

A start-up called NetHelper has launched a technical support service for businesses and individual users to provide help for Web surfers.

The company will offer support and advice via telephone on using Web browsers, email, FTP, TCP/IP stacks, HTML, Java, and other Internet technology.

The service, which opened for business this week, starts at $1.08 per minute, or $65 a hour. The company says it's a cheaper alternative to some vendor-provided tech support plans from companies such as Microsoft.
