The saying "You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream" might be in need of an addendum that highlights our ability to double down when the (chocolate) chips are on the line. While everyone enjoys all this screaming for ice cream, that doesn't necessarily mean we will be heard when it comes time to make the all-important decision of which mix-ins and toppings to use. Now, a reasonable person might assume that the answer is to scream twice as loud, but there is another way -- make twice the ice cream.
The Nostalgia Electrics '50s-Style Double Ice Cream Maker ($50) appeases ice cream seekers with two times the ice cream. The double-barreled ice cream maker features distinctive styling and two 16-ounce mugs that allow for two different flavors to be made at a time. Start off with the mugs in the freezer to chill them down (about 6 hours) and then get the ice cream party started by popping them in the machine.
It takes about 30 minutes to make a batch of ice cream. Mix-ins can be added to either side through an incorporated funnel. And if there happen to be any leftovers from the two batches, each mug has its own lid, so in addition to being able to put a lid on all that screaming, any leftovers can be conveniently stored in the freezer.
