Watch the Game of Thrones opening sequence in epic papercraft

Moleskine is celebrating the new season of Game of Thrones with an amazing papercraft recreation of the opening sequence.

We all know it: HBO crafts some truly epic title sequences to open their TV shows, and Game of Thrones has one of the most epic of all. As the camera pans out over that model of King's Landing, you truly get a sense that you're in for a huge adventure. Do you get the same feeling if it's made out of paper? Why yes, yes you do.

We know this because notebook maker Moleskine has built that sequence out of 7,600 individual paper cutouts, then filmed the moving parts in painstaking stop-motion. Admittedly, it's to advertise the company's new limited edition Game of Thrones-themed notebooks, but they're pretty gorgeous too, so we ain't even mad.

You can watch the Moleskine making-of video here. The sixth season of Game of Thrones is due to begin this weekend on April 24.
