Capcom has released a new trailer for Street Fighter 5. The video showcases Alex, the first downloadable character for the fighting game, who made his series debut in Street Fighter 3. As you can see below, he seems to have made the jump to the latest entry with most of his iconic moves intact.

In addition to his slashes, Alex also has his full range of wrestling-inspired moves. These include the Hyper Bomb, a devastating clotheslines, and his diving attack. During his V-Skill Alex stretches his arms (an homage to his Street Fighter 3 taunt). Once this is done, the next attack he lands will be a counter-hit.

Street Fighter 5's March update was released in two parts. On March 28 a Challenge Mode, Trials, and an online rematch option were added, along with improvements to the Battle Lounge, and various bug fixes.

The second part arrives today, March 30, at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET/5 p.m. GMT. In addition to bringing Alex to the game, it will also activate the in-game shop. However, since Street Fighter 5's real-money currency, Zenny, isn't part of the update, Alex will be available at no cost for a trial period.

"This also will apply to any future DLC character that releases prior to the Zenny shop launching," Capcom explained. "Once the Zenny shop launches, the free trial for any DLC characters that released prior to the Zenny shop opening will end, and players will need to either use Fight Money, Zenny, or the Season Pass to access those characters."

Once the Zenny shop launches, the character will no longer be playable unless he is purchased. When the Zenny shop launches, Alex will be cost 100,000 Fight Money (Street Fighter V's in-game currency), while character costumes will be 40,000 each.
