Watch Ned Stark from 'Game of Thrones' live and die in 60 seconds

Vanity Fair is partnering with 1A4 Studio on a series of animated shorts that tell the tales of Westeros and Essos in 60-second chunks, beginning with the life of Ned Stark.

Eddard (Ned) Stark was one of the good guys in HBO's "Game of Thrones," but good guys don't seem to last too long in Westeros. Ned didn't even make it out of the first season of the HBO series, and a new animated short tells Ned Stark's entire story arc in just 60 seconds.

The short is part of a new series by Vanity Fair and 1A4 Studio called "Quick Draw: Game of Thrones" that involves short films telling the many tales of Westeros and Essos in one-minute animated speedruns. The first episode shows viewers the life and death of Ned Stark, complete with animated direwolves, jousting matches, and, ultimately, Ned's head on a spike in an animated version of King's Landing. Watch the entire clip for yourself at the top of this post.

We'll likely see several more episodes in coming days and weeks leading up to the debut of "Game of Thrones" Season 5 on April 12. If the preview video from 1A4 Studio (below) is any indication, there will be copious amounts of what Peter Dinklage describes as " stabby, stabby, stabby, sexy, sexy, sexy."
