Warner movie-to-DVD contest set to begin

Top 10 vote-getters among 30 movie titles will be released in DVD format in December and January.

Warner Home Video and announced Tuesday plans to initiate a contest featuring 30 movie tiles in the Warner library on which users can vote for a DVD debut. The top 10 movie titles to receive the most votes in the month of June will be released in December and January.

The DVD Decision contest attracted more than a quarter million votes when held in 2003 and 2004, and the winning DVDs sold almost 500,000 units at the time of their release. The upcoming contest--accessible on the Amazon Web site--will be divided into action-adventure, comedy-musicals and drama categories, featuring titles such as "The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing," "Angles in the Outfield" and "Blume in Love."
