The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) revised its validator for Web pages. The validator is designed to test Web pages for conformance to W3C recommendations, such as XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language) and HTML (Hyptertext Markup Language).

The revision features a new layout; back-end restructuring aimed at improving security and performance; support for new document types including XHTML+MathML, XHTML+MathML+SVG, XHTML 1.0 Second Edition and XHTML 1.1; bug fixes and improvements to accessibility for people with disabilities.
