Vindigo widens reach, adds services

Start-up Vindigo announced on Monday that it added new services and expanded market coverage for its software that runs on handheld devices. The New York-based company sells a subscription service that provides information, such as locations and addresses of restaurants and shops, to device owners.

The company has added features, such as the location of the nearest bathroom, local weather forecasts and pinpointing address locations, to its service. It has also expanded the number of markets that its service is available in to over 35. In addition to San Francisco, New York and Chicago, Vindigo now covers Berkeley and Oakland in Northern California; Tampa Bay, Fla.; and St. Louis, among other locations. The Vindigo service is available for $3.50 per month or $24.95 per year.
