Verizon gets all Hollywood
Verizon Communications said Thursday that it finished a $7 million upgrade to its Southern California broadband Internet network, with special added touches for the entertainment industry located in and around Hollywood. The company said it added 350 miles of fiber-optic cable to reach about two-thirds of businesses in the greater Los Angeles area. It also said it has installed two large-capacity video switches so movie studios can send and receive information.
