At the Internet Expo in San Jose, California, Verity will unveil a trio of products designed to streamline searching for information on the Net.

First off, Verity will give a sneak preview of its Topic Agent Server Toolkit, a tool now in early beta testing, that is designed to provide personalized, filtered information via the Internet. The Toolkit is set to ship in the second quarter of this year

Next, the company will show Version 1.2 of its Topic CD Publisher, a search engine due to ship in March that supports simultaneous searching of information on CD-ROMs and World Wide Web sites. With the previous version of Topic CD Publisher, users had to search Web sites and CD-ROMs one at a time.

Cisco Systems is scheduled to appear at the press conference today and provide an example of how Topic CD will work by demonstrating a CD-ROM that uses a Spyglass Mosaic Web browser and Topic CD Publisher to search for Cisco technical documentation on the disc and the company's Web site.

Verity will also show a version of its flagship Topic Search Engine that ties into Microsoft's new Web server, the Internet Information Server (IIS). The link with IIS will boost the performance of the search engine, Verity officials said.
