Under the agreement, Santa Clara, California-based Vantive said in a statement that IBM has agreed to form a partnership with Vantive in order to deliver e-business and e-customer relationship management services and products. IBM Global said it has formed a Vantive practice that will offer systems integration consulting and services in support of Vantive software.
IBM Global, the world's largest IT services provider with nearly $29 billion in revenue, said that Vantive's e-CRM, or e-customer relationship management software and its other Web-enabled software helps companies with their sales and marketing strategy, as well as call center, help desk, and field services.
The partnership with IBM Global will help boost the deployment of Vantive's software and services on a global scale, according to Rational Software project manager Rob Sauer. Rational Software is currently a client of the new Vantive practice.
Vantive said it will be able to leverage IBM's global presence to expand Vantive's market share across the world and help bring its CRM software and services to more customers. Vantive also said that the new consulting practice will offer the expertise and tools to shorten the set-up time on even the most complex CRM systems.
