Valence chairman retires, CEO steps in

Valence Technology announced Monday that founder and company chairman Lev Dawson has retired effective immediately and that former Dell executive and current Valence CEO Stephan Godevais has been appointed as the new chairman. Dawson has also retired as a director of the board but will be available to the company as a consultant. Valence has been developing lithium-ion polymer rechargeable batteries and is now working to further commercialize its battery technology. The company has already signed partnerships with PC maker Acer and parts supplier Wistron to develop mobile products based on Valence's technology.
