Fresh Start release version 1.0 is now out. It is a program designed for shared Macintoshes. It restores a Macintosh's configuration -- preferences, PRAM and some system settings -- to a standard state at each restart.

CD-ROM SpeedTools 4.0.1is out.

MacLinkPlus 11.001 fixes a problem when decompressing Stuffit 5 compressed files. Previously, the user might receive an error that the (stuffed) file is corrupt or was not downloaded properly. [Update: A note on the web page now says "This patch is temporarily unavailable. We will be posting it as soon as possible."]

Virex 6.0b1 is a public beta of the next version of this antivirus utility.

DVD-RAM TuneUp 2.0.4 is faster, includes some bug fixes and is Mac OS 8.5 compatible.

FileDispenser 2.0.0 has been released. It is a utility that categorizes files, while duplicating or moving files from a source folder, by the criteria you choose. Version 2.0.0 now supports drag-and-drop.

KeystrokeRecorder 2.0 is an extension that records each keystroke into a file for later retrieval.

EjectDisk 3.1.1 allows you to eject most disks with a single keystroke from within any application. The update adds support for USB floppy drives. It also makes the scanning for SCSI devices optional (EjectDisk 3.1 attempted determine this automatically, but could get it wrong in certain situations).

FinderKeeper 1.5 is now available. This utility helps keep desktops tidy and well-organized by automatically positioning folder windows.

Drag'nBack 2.9.7 is the latest version of this back-up utility.

Symbionts 2.8.3 displays the name and number of bytes of memory each system extension allocates from the system heap. The name and number appear beneath the extension's icon at startup and in a menubar.

Dumpster 3.4.3 is a Folder and Trash Can replacement utility. The updates fixes a bug that caused a crash if Dumpster resource files were moved.

G3Strip 1.9.1 is the latest update to this Control Strip Module that controls the PowerPC 750's backside cache and displays a range of CPU information.

CMManager 2.0 gives you the ability to enable, disable and delete Contextual Menu Items from the startup volume.

NewNOTEPAD II 1.8.1 has been released.

QuickEditor 6.3.2 is the latest version of this QuickTime movie editor.

Logitech MouseWare driver 3.1 is out.

Keyspan USB Twin Serial adapter 1.12b7 is now available. [Their web site was not responding this morning.]

Adaptec updates Adaptec has released updates for three of their SCSI cards: 2906 1.1; dual channel 3940UW 4.1; dual channel 3944UW 4.1b3. They have also updated their PowerDomain Control utility to version 5.0.1.
