Uncharted 4's first bonus weekend event kicks off

Various bonuses are being offered in Uncharted 4's multiplayer until May 31.

It's Memorial Day weekend in the United States, making this an opportune time for Naughty Dog to kick off the first bonus weekend event in Uncharted 4.

Beginning today and running for the next four days, Uncharted 4's multiplayer will be offering two in-game bonuses. Rather than the usual extra XP these events hand out in other games, this one provides players with a 50 percent Relic bonus on all challenges and a 70 percent discount on all cosmetic item bundles.

The event is already under way and ends at 12 p.m. PT on Tuesday, May 31.

Uncharted 4 has only been out for just over two weeks, so we don't yet have a sense for how often we'll be seeing these types of events. Grand Theft Auto V, for one, has made them a weekly fixture, but that's pretty atypical.

Naughty Dog has extensive plans for Uncharted 4's multiplayer. As it outlined in early May, it will offer all future DLC maps and modes for free, and the company also intends to add new weapons, boosters, skins and a co-op mode, among other things, in the coming year.
