Ulead has announced the latest version of its video-editing and DVD-authoring program, VideoStudio. Ulead VideoStudio 10 will include support for Dolby 5.1 surround sound, and VideoStudio 10 Plus will support high-definition video capture and playback. Ulead claims that its Smart Proxy technology, a process that involves encoding HD video for editing, will make HD editing possible for even midrange computers. VideoStudio 10 will also include minor enhancements such as new video filters and DVD menu effects. As a bonus, both versions of VideoStudio 10 will come with a six-month membership to the DropShots photo- and video-sharing service. VideoStudio 10 and VideoStudio 10 Plus ship in May. VideoStudio 10 will retail for around $70, while VideoStudio 10 Plus will be priced in the neighborhood of $100.
