The United Kingdom's Department for Work and Pensions has boosted its IT services contract with Electronic Data Systems, the company said Wednesday. EDS will now get about $4.7 billion over the five-year period of the deal, subject to performance. This is $1.4 billion higher than previous estimates, EDS said. In addition, EDS could win further awards worth $324 million over the life of the deal.
The works and pension department serves 20 million customer accounts and makes 13 million payments weekly.
