Twitter's identity crisis: Is it a social network or news app?

The app is in denial that it's a social network, so Bridget Carey has some words for the bird. Meanwhile, Google wants to inject tech into your eyeball and Samsung tucks in tykes with virtual reality.

Is Twitter going through some sort of midlife identity crisis? The app now is listed under "News" in the App Store instead of the social networking category.
