Turner Network Television is planning a made-for-television movie featuring Hollywood actors playing high-tech superstars such as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, according to Variety magazine.

With the working title of "Pirates of Silicon Valley," the movie supposedly will "tell the true story of the rise of the computer visionaries, their fierce battles, and how the fledgling computer empire has changed the world," according to Variety, a Hollywood trade magazine.

It is expected to air next year, exclusively on TNT.

A TNT spokeswoman declined comment.

Citing sources close to the production, Variety said Noah Wyle of ER is in talks to play the role of Jobs, while Breakfast Club star Anthony Michael Hall has agreed to play Gates. Joseph Slotnick, who appeared in the feature film Twister, may portray Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak.

TNT's plans for a movie about Gates and Jobs are another sign of high-tech's growing clout in mainstream America.
