True Blood season six lands on Quickflix

The local video-streaming service will have the vampire-themed HBO show just hours after it airs in the US.

Australian video-on-demand service Quickflix has used its existing relationship with HBO to score a distribution deal for the new True Blood season, which premiered on 16 June.

The episodes will be both streamed and on demand, and will be available "only hours of airing in the US", according to Quickflix. The Quickflix site says that the episodes are "streaming Tuesday".

Individual episodes will cost AU$2.99 for SD and AU$3.49 for HD. Quickflix will also offer a "season pass" for True Blood for all 10 episodes for AU$28.99 in SD or AU$33.99 in HD. Holders of a season pass will get an 11th "wrap-up special episode", as well.

These prices are identical to those being offered by the iTunes store in Australia.

Quickflix has a solid history with HBO shows, offering a wide array of older seasons, as well as offering new shows close to their US broadcast dates.
