Problems with .smil files MacFixIt reader Dan reports that after updating his AirPort base station with the latest firmware (version 5.3), some media streaming services - specifically .smil files - are not working.

"I can no longer listen to RealAudio streams from NPR (but the video from 'FOX News' comes through, ugh). iTunes music streaming works just fine, as do the previews on the iTMS. Then when I took my laptop to work today (a college with a T1), NPR came through loud and clear (over both a wired and a wireless (Cisco Aeronet) connection). Then coming home tonight, no NPR, same behavior as last night: it downloads the .smil file, but when RealPlayer opens, it just says "Stopped". After some more testing here at home, it seems limited to .smil files. I was able to successfully play an NPR story from 1997 from their archives ? a .ram file.

Poor reception after update Igor Botan reports poor reception after applying the update: "I have a iBook dual USB G3 500MHz. I have Panther and I use to have in my office full 4 bars on my airport card. I could go as far as 60 feet and into other room and still have full bars. After I updated to the latest Airport software update I started having big problems with the airport [...] to get at least one bar I need to be under the wireless station."
