Trend Micro announced Wednesday that its antivirus product has become the first to receive certification for use in government applications. The antivirus company's Internet gateway solutions--InterScan VirusWall 3.5 for NT and InterScan VirusWall 3.6 for Solaris, HP-UX and Linux--received certification and listing on the National Information Assurance Partnership's validated products list.

The software has received a rating of Evaluation Assurance Level 4, the highest rating that can be received from commercial certification labs.
