TomTom and 'Top Gear' team up to put Jeremy Clarkson and the Stig in your dashboard. Only one of these is a speaking role. TomTom/Top Gear

It would seem that you couldn't swing a cat these days without hitting something with the "Top Gear" logo on it. Assets from the madly popular automotive show--including the colorful commentary of the show's most popular presenter, Jeremy "Jezza" Clarkson--are featured in both Gran Turismo 5 and the upcoming Forza Motorsport 4 racing games for the PS3 and Xbox 360, respectively, and even in an iOS game. Today brings the news that you can now put ol' Jezza on your dashboard with the announcement of the TomTom Go Live Top Gear Edition, the first "Top Gear"-themed GPS device...in the world.

Looking at the specs, the GO Live Top Gear Edition looks like a variant of the recently announced Go Live 1535 M portable navigation device that has been preloaded with all sorts of "Top Gear"-themed content. That means that the unit will feature a 5-inch color touch screen and TomTom's new app integration with Twitter, Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Expedia.

The preloaded "Top Gear" content includes special themed startup and shutdown screens, "Top Gear"-themed car icons and points of interest (POIs), and turn-by-turn directions spoken by none other than Mr. Clarkson himself. Expect your turn-by-turn directions to be a bit long-winded, as Clarkson is wont to be. So in addition to, "Ahead, turn left..." you'll also get, "...and if you don't know which side is left, perhaps you shouldn't be driving."

You can get an idea of what to expect in the embedded video clip.

When you grow tired of listening to Clarkson's lengthy instructions, the Top Gear Edition also features a "Stig Mode" that silences the device like the show's tame racing driver, The Stig. Some say...this is the mode that most Go Live Top Gear Editions will be set to within a few days of purchase.

The TomTom Go Live Top Gear Edition is currently available for $269.95 (or $20 more than the standard Go Live 1535 M, which we're assuming is otherwise identical). As Clarkson himself would say, "And on that bombshell... Good night."
