Many a New York City resident woke up this morning to find that not only were they unable to access their Internet service, but that neither could their neighbors. That's because local cable behemoth Time Warner has been experiencing outages in their high-speed Internet and digital telephone service throughout Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan for the past few hours.

A statement from the cable company assures that technicians are doing everything they can and that frustrated customers are encouraged to not try resetting their modems.

UPDATE: As of 9:40 AM Eastern time, the problem appears to be subsiding.
