Game publisher THQ on Thursday announced plans to acquire Ann Arbor, Mich.-based development studio Outrage Entertainment, best known for creating the PC game "Descent." Terms of the all-cash transaction were not disclosed.
Calabasas Hills, Calif.-based THQ also announced that it had opened an internal development studio to focus on creation of games for consoles, including Nintendo's new GameCube. The new Cranky Pants Games division is based in Seattle.
