This trumpet didn't exist when it was shipped (Tomorrow Daily 335)
A robot that can fly, perch on walls, and climb vertical surfaces; also, a Dutch shipping company sends a 3D printer through the mail while it makes a trumpet.
Researchers at Stanford University showed off SCAMP, a robot that can fly, land on walls, climb surfaces and correct its perch if it starts to slip. It could be a jumping off point for various kinds of climbing robots.
We're also loving this promotional video from Dutch shipping company PostNL, who sent a 3D printer (an Ultimaker 2) through the mail while it created a fully playable trumpet for the package's recipient.
