Slow cookers are fantastic. Throw a bunch of stuff in a pot, turn it on, wait a few hours, open it up, and magically all the raw ingredients have turned into edible (and delicious) food. What's not to love?

After a while of using this magical cooking device (microwaves pale in comparison), you will want to up the ante a bit. For a simple example, consider how important and delicious it is to brown your foods before cooking. New flavors are created that take a good meal into a whole different spectrum. Usually, slow cookers are not capable of producing such results. The solution has been to brown your meats in a pan and then transfer to the slow cooker.

The All-Clad Deluxe Slow Cooker combines those steps with a removable stovetop-safe cooking vessel. Brown meats and vegetables directly on the stovetop and then simply transfer the entire pot to the slow cooker. When the meal is ready, the insert can be placed in the oven to brown toppings or melt cheese. Then the entire insert can be brought to the table for easy serving.

The 7-quart capacity slow cooker also features a stainless steel exterior with easy-carry handles and a digital display. The aluminum insert is dishwasher safe, completing the ease of use one would expect from a slow cooker.
