Back in early December, Senior Editor Scott Stein reviewed Apple's Smart Battery Case for CNET. I was working on story about the "World's Thinnest iPhone case" and asked Stein to lend me the case for comparison and noticed that it had held up pretty well over the last five months but showed some signs of wear (he uses the case as his everyday case).

As Apple says -- and I agree -- "the silky, soft-touch finish of the silicone exterior feels great in your hand." But that silicone exterior does show some buffed shiny spots, which is slightly distressing.
