Thermador opens up the induction cooktop
The Thermador Freedom Induction Cooktop offers intuitive control with maximum flexibility. Cookware of any shape can be placed anywhere on the cooking surface.

Things don't always go as planned in the kitchen and even when they do, the necessity to be able to hop from one thing to the next is something that is as natural as stirring the sauce while keeping one eye on the meat.
Dealing with variables is a fact of life in the kitchen and the Thermador Freedom Induction Cooktop can accommodate. The new cooktop for home kitchens is designed to allow cookware of any size to be placed anywhere on its surface.
A series of 48 individual 3-inch induction heating elements reside underneath the ceramic glass surface and react to the shape of individual cookware. The large cooking surface area is naturally energy efficient as heating elements conform to the cookware and not the other way around. In addition to the ability to accommodate any variety of cookware, the cooktop recognizes movement, providing an easy transition as food is moved about.
Control is provided via a touch-screen interface that mimics the cooking area, allowing users to easily visualize settings for individual pots and pans. When cookware is moved, the display automatically updates to show the new position. With a power output range that starts at 15 watts and goes on up to 4,600 watts, the wide-open cooktop offers a limitless area for maximum flexibility providing a degree of stability no matter what else may be going on in the kitchen.
The Thermador Freedom Induction Cooktop will be available for purchase starting in July 2012.
