The perfect debate antidote: Watch hot water poured on Skittles

Technically Incorrect: Sometimes, the apparently most pointless exercises can be the most calming.

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

Breathe in, breathe out. Salute your fortune.

It will boil over. It will also be absurd.

You know this before watching it, just as surely as you'll know it after watching it.

Of course I'm talking about the presidential debate.

Coincidentally, one of my nearest and dearest has just sent me something that may help ease your way through its more painful phases.

Here is a product that enjoys absurd advertising boiling over in real time.

This YouTube video -- first posted in August -- in which someone decides to pour hot water over a plate of beautifully arranged Skittles.

Ask not why someone did this. Ask only why you should watch it.

I submit that the effect, a peculiar technicolor pizza of joy, will soothe you through troubled times.

I submit that this is something you can watch again and again, a peculiar salutation to the wonders of life and therefore an antidote to some of its horrors.

Dexter See, the creator of the opus, says that to achieve full bliss you have to ensure that the Skittles are placed on the plate in consistent order and reflect the colors of the rainbow.

Please feel free to try it at home and see if it moves you as it has me.

I feel sure I'll need to watch it several times more over the next few days.
