Cheeps! It's Black Friday! Or, as I like to call it: Friday. Actually, there are some pretty sweet deals to be had today, starting with 41 great tech buys and ending with my hand-picked selection, below.

Nothing 'Strange' about this great unlocked phone

A phone Worf would love. #Trekreference #nerd

Josh Miller/CNET

The Huawei Honor 8 ($399.00 at Amazon.com) is the sleeper smartphone of 2016, one that arrived with nowhere near the fanfare of an iPhone or Galaxy but slowly earned a lot of fans.

Just last month, the 32GB model would have cost you $400, but right now Amazon has the Huawei Honor 8 (32GB) for $259.99 shipped when you add it to your shopping cart (a $30 instant rebate will be applied at checkout).

What's more, add this Doctor Strange Gift Box to your cart and it'll be free when you check out. It includes a Doctor Strange case for the Honor 8 and two exclusive comics.

Available in your choice of black, white or sapphire blue, the Honor 8 is positively packed with impressive features, including a dual-lens camera, a rear fingerprint reader that's also a programmable button, a 5.2-inch HD screen and Android 6.0. A buddy of mine ditched his iPhone for this and hasn't looked back.

Put some power in your (back) pocket

Gentlemen, I can't tell you how often this item has come to the rescue... not just for me, but for others desperate to recharge a dead phone. And it's always met with the same reaction: "That's so awesome!"

Granted, it wasn't quite so awesome when it was $99. But between now and Monday, you can score the Nomad Wallet for $39.95 plus shipping, unless your cart total hits at least $50.

This unassuming-looking black billfold stows a 2,400mAh rechargeable battery and built-in Lightning cable. (Sorry Android users.)

Great, great gift item, cheeps.

BOGO Bluetooth speakers!

If you like geometric shapes, you'll love the Turtle Shell 2.0. Especially when they're two for the price of one.

Outdoor Tech

Looking for a speaker that laughs in the face of sun, wind, water and other nefarious elements? How about two of them?

For a limited time, you can get two Outdoor Tech Turtle Shell 2.0 rugged Bluetooth speakers for $55.95 shipped. These normally run $79.95 for just one! They're available in your choice of three colors, and you can mix and match.

Unlike most Bluetooth speakers, this one is designed to join you outdoors. For starters, it's rechargeable, and good for an impressive 16 hours of play time. Furthermore, it's IP65-rated dustproof and water-resistant. That means it won't just survive splashes by the pool, but also rainstorms when you invariably forget to bring it inside. How cool is that?

Take your passwords and stick 'em (in here)

It continues to amaze me how few people even know password managers exist. They do, they're awesome and they're absolutely essential for living the modern connected life.

Lamantine Software

I typically recommend Dashlane, only because it's what I use, but that dang thing costs $40 per year. If you find subscriptions similarly distasteful, you're in luck: Today only, and exclusively for Cheapskate readers (!), you can get a lifetime Sticky Password Premium license for $24.99. "Civilians" would pay $75 for this same license!

The software is available for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS, and of course it syncs your password database between any and all devices you own, regardless of platform. It can even do this via Wi-Fi, effectively keeping your passwords out of the cloud.

Steer clear of ransomware (for cheap)

Speaking of essential software (and Cheapskate exclusives), does your PC have proper protection against ransomware? I'm guessing no, because not many security tools promise to save you from that scourge.

WinPatrol's WinAntiRansom does, and as part of a Black Friday promotion, you can get a one-user, one-year license for just $6.98. There are loads of other options as well, including a 3-user license for $8.73. Want to pay once and be done? Check out WinPatrol's lifetime-license sale.

While you're at it, considering bundling all three of WinPatrol's products for even greater savings. Again, they're available with one-year or lifetime licenses.

The best iPad deal maybe ever?

The other day I shared an iPad Mini 4 deal, but that model offers few advantages over its predecessor, the iPad Mini 2. And today's your chance to score what may be the best deal ever on the latter.

For a limited time, and while supplies last, TechRabbit has the certified pre-owned Apple iPad Mini 2 (32GB) for $169.99 shipped. I've made no secret of my love for this tablet, and at this price I wouldn't have to feel guilty about buying it.

Oh, and while you're there, grab the Samsung Gear VR for $39.99 shipped -- the best price I've seen on a new, not refurbished, unit. Just last night I gathered some family members for Gear VR-powered Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, and we all had a blast. But you can't play that game on Google Cardboard-style VR.

Listen to this!

Sol Republic

Sport earphones come in a zillion styles. If you're looking for something that's good for the gym, look no further: Yugster has the refurbished (but with new ear tips) Sol Republic Shadow Wireless for $29.97 shipped after applying coupon code 10SOLNOV.

This exact item has been my gym companion for the better part of a year. I love the design, love the sound quality, love the battery life. I especially love that it can pair with two different devices, so I can easily switch over to using it with, say, my tablet for watching movies.

Yugster has it in your choice of black or gray, and it's backed with a 90-day warranty.

Okay, cheeps! That's it for me. What incredible Black Friday deals have you found out in the wild? Name them in the comments, then join me back here on Monday for -- well, you know.
