The 125cc world's fastest pram

A hobby inventor has added a motorcycle engine to a pram, giving it a top speed of 80 kilometres per hour.

Plumber Colin Furze is a new dad. Given his love of tinkering and trying to break records, he decided that the thing to do would be to create the world's fastest pram.

The result kind of looks like a ducting vent on wheels, clad as it is in metal panelling, but it can certainly go. Tucked between the wheels is a 125cc motorcycle engine, and the pram's handle acts as a control bar, with buttons for starting the engine, shifting left and right, and powering the engine down.

Two mountain bike gear levers act as accelerator and brake, and he added a platform for standing with scooter wheels (the skateboard wheels melted).

In order to break the world record, the pram needs to be able to go faster than 30 miles per hour (48 kilometres per hour), but this vehicle has topped that by a long stretch, with a top speed of 50 miles per hour (80 kilometres per hour) — which isn't really safe for babies, but looks like a heck of a lot of fun.

He is going to be trying for a Guinness World Record on 14 October. Check it out in the video below.
