Influential singer and songwriter Leonard Cohen passed away today at 82.
At his peak in the late 60s and early 70s, but with a musical career that would span 5 decades, Cohen's music would have a huge influence over several generations. According to the CBS News story covering his passing, his most famous song, "Hallelujah," would go on to be covered by a multitude of musicians over the years including Bon Jovi, Rufus Wainwright, Regina Spektor, Michael McDonald, Norah Jones, Justin Timberlake, k.d. lang, Brandi Carlile, Susan Boyle, Bono, Willie Nelson and Renee Fleming.
