Tessera Technologies, a provider of miniaturization technologies for the electronics industry, has filed a patent infringement suit against Infineon Technologies and Micron Technologies, two of the largest memory manufacturers.
The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, charges that certain of the defendants' packages for memory and other semiconductor devices use Tessera patented inventions. San Jose, Calif.-based Tessera won earlier suits against Texas Instruments and Sharp, netting millions in damages. Tessera has inked licensing deals with Intel and others.
