The new Telstra data start from AU$5 per month for 30MB, and range up until AU$99 per month for a 9GB data allowance. The 1GB pack receives an AU$20 price cut, now AU$29 per month. Telstra has also introduced two new plans, 3GB and 6GB monthly quotas.

While these new packs are an improvement on Telstra's previous offerings, they still fall well short of the value offered by rivals Optus and VHA, with the other networks typically offering twice as much data at similar price points. Optus offers 1GB for AU$14.95 to customers on contract, while 3 Mobile will dish out 6GB for AU$40 per month.
