Telstra has revealed significant increases in its prepaid recharge values and sweetens the deal by offering a AU$99 Telstra-branded Android smartphone.

Prepaid customers on the Next G network will now get AU$220 value on a AU$30 recharge, plus 400MB of data, up from 150MB. Those who choose to top up their account with AU$100 credit will get AU$1400 for calls and messages and 4GB of data.
To make use of these new data allowances, the telco will also introduce a new Android smartphone to its range. The handset, named Smart-Touch, will be self-branded by Telstra, feature Android 2.1, a resistive touchscreen and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The phone will be sold for AU$99 when it's released in store on 22 March.
