Plans for the iPhone 5 will stick with Telstra's new size-based pricing scheme. The Small plan comes with AU$600 credit and 1GB of data, Medium includes AU$800 talk/MMS and 1.5GB data, Large increases the data to 2GB with AU$900 credit and the Extra Large plan has unlimited calls and messages, plus 3GB of data. All plans include unlimited national SMSes.

The table below shows the total monthly spend for each iPhone model on each plan, with the price comprised of the monthly service tariff plus a handset repayment amount where applicable.

iPhone 5 Small Medium Large Extra Large
16GB AU$67 AU$80 AU$100 AU$130
32GB AU$71 AU$86 AU$103 AU$132
64GB AU$77 AU$92 AU$108 AU$137

As a bonus, customers who sign up to either the Medium, Large or Extra Large plans receive 1GB of data on their plans for the first 12 months of the two-year contract.

Optus and Vodafone have also released their pricing for the iPhone 5. These plans are fairly comparable, but while Telstra's plans start at AU$59 per month, Optus and Vodafone also include plans with a monthly tariff of as low as AU$30 per month, with only a total monthly spend of AU$48 per month. Of course, these lower-cost plans offer less inclusions and attract a higher monthly handset repayment expense.
